Within the sky shot format specifically, tube count is the main driver, because each tube is its own loaded shell, so a 240-shot cake is genuinely 240 separate charges packed into one housing, not one charge scaled up. Duration follows the same logic: a single shot fires once and is done in seconds, while a 120- or 240-shot cake burns for a stretch long enough to anchor a finale.
