Seven stops, many hands, one Diwali evening.
1. Raw material
It starts with plain things: paper and card from the mills, clay, and the chemicals that give each cracker its colour and its sound. Suppliers bring them into Sivakasi. None of it is a firework yet.
2. The makers
In the factories around Sivakasi, workers roll the paper tubes, fill them, seal them and lay them out in rows to dry in the sun. Much of it is still done by hand, a skill families here have passed down for generations. It is careful work, and risky work, every single day.
3. Packing
Finished crackers are counted, boxed and sealed at the factory, with the maker's label and the printed MRP on every box, then packed into cartons for the road.
4. Wholesale dealer
The cartons go to wholesale dealers in Sivakasi, who stock the season's range in their godowns. We buy from them, so the box you order is the same sealed box a shop would get.
5. OnlineCrackers
You pick your crackers on this site. A real person calls or WhatsApps you to confirm stock and the final total, you pay by UPI, and we send your order on its way.
6. Transport
Lorries carry the sealed cartons by road from Sivakasi across South India. The drivers work long hours on long roads, and fireworks need careful handling the whole way.
7. You
Then one evening, your family lights the first sparkler. Everything above happened so that moment could.
