A "wala" is simply a linked cracker in a garland string, so "1000 wala" means a garland of 1000 crackers tied end to end, one of the most common lengths bought for a continuous burst run at the start or close of Diwali evening. Garlands are sold across a size ladder, from a 100-wala starter string right up to a 10,000-wala roll, and the 1000-wala sits roughly in the middle: long enough to run for a real stretch, short enough that one length is easy to lay out and light. Rates below reflect 2026 stock; the order screen always carries the current net rate for each length.
How Our Pricing Works
Garland pricing scales with wala count more directly than almost any other cracker format. A 1000-wala string is, in effect, ten 100-wala strings joined, so the printed MRP and the net rate both step up roughly in line with length. What doesn't scale linearly is convenience: buying one 1000-wala roll instead of ten 100-wala packs usually works out cheaper per wala at net rate, because packaging and handling cost gets spread over more crackers. As with every item on this site, treat the MRP on the box as a reference number only. It's set high by design, and the net rate you're actually charged is the number that matters. refreshed each season
Picks for This Budget
- 100 Wala Garland: the shortest common length, a quick continuous burst that's over inside a minute or so.
- 500 Wala Garland: a mid-length string for a longer run without committing to a full 1000.
- 1000 Wala Garland: the standard reference length this page is built around.
- 2000 Wala Garland: doubles the 1000-wala run time, still manageable as a single lay-out.
- 5000 Wala and 10000 Wala Garland: the long-format rolls, used where a sustained, uninterrupted burst is the point; these need the most ground space and the longest clear-away time.
- Lar Crackers (String Pack): garland-style strings sold by length instead of a fixed wala count, useful if none of the standard steps match what you need.
- Mini Garland Cracker: a short, low-count string sized for smaller gatherings rather than a full street-style burst.
All of these sit under Garland Crackers. refreshed each season

Safety & Fit
Every wala length above is a ground item lit and left to run on its own, not held. Lay the full string out flat before lighting, well clear of people, vehicles and anything dry. Set up on open ground, clear of vehicles, dry leaves and the festival lamps, with water and dry sand beside you before the first light. Use an incense stick at arm's length, one cracker at a time, and leave any dud alone, soak it rather than relight it. Children hold sparklers only, always supervised, in cotton clothes and closed shoes.
