Asoka Flower Pot

An Asoka flower pot is a ground fountain: a squat cardboard or clay-based cone that stands on its own base and, once lit, throws a dense, layered cone of sparks straight up rather than launching anything into the air. There's no bang and no projectile; the whole effect is visual, low noise, and finishes on its own within a short burn. "Asoka" is the name this particular fill and cone profile has carried across Sivakasi manufacturers for years. It's a recognised, established variant rather than a new or unusual one.

Within the flower-pot family it sits alongside the plain small and big sizes, plus tinted colour versions and the heavier koti-series pots. What sets Asoka apart from the base "Flower Pot Small" or "Flower Pot Big" is the layered spark cone the fill produces: a fuller, more structured look than a plain single-tone fountain, without stepping up to the taller, more forceful spray of a koti-grade pot.

Because it's low noise and apartment-safe, it's one of the more forgiving crackers on a balcony or in a housing-complex courtyard, but "low noise" and "ground item" don't mean unsupervised. Light it on a flat, stable surface, keep clear of the emission cone once it's lit, and don't lean over it to check on it mid-burn.

Set up on open ground, clear of vehicles, dry leaves and the festival lamps, with water and dry sand beside you before the first light. Use an incense stick at arm's length, one cracker at a time, and leave any dud alone, soak it rather than relight it. Children hold sparklers only, always supervised, in cotton clothes and closed shoes.
